Our Story
The story of Border Magic starts in Rantoul, Illinois in 1992, offering commercial and residential landscape concrete curbing, walkways and edging. With its headquarters now located in Waco, Texas, Border Magic has evolved into a top quality, decorative concrete business.
Franchise veteran Butch Mogavero purchased Border Magic and its sister franchise company Boulder Designs in 2015 from founder, Eldean Bergman. The same year Mogavero moved Boulder Designs and Border Magic’s corporate headquarters from Rantoul to Waco, Texas. Mogavero’s franchise experience includes a successful landscaping company which he owned and operated. He also worked for one of the world’s premier service franchise companies in franchise sales and development where he sold many franchise units and assisted in developing one of their franchise businesses into a robust national brand.
In the first six months of 2017, Boulder Designs and Border Magic have seen a record increase of over 25 percent in new franchise businesses mainly in Texas, Oklahoma and in the Midwest. Today, in 2018, Border Magic has 58 units, and our sister company, Boulder Designs, has 130 units across the United States.
